Motul Podiums at Round 2 of Formula Drift in Atlanta

Round 2 of the 2026 Formula Drift season took place at what is considered the birthplace of the series, Road Atlanta. Road Atlanta has hosted Formula Drift since its inaugural season in 2004, making it the longest standing venue for the sport and one of the series’ most well attended rounds. 2026 was no different as a strong crowd came out to support their drifting heroes on a perfect spring day in Atlanta. Motul has long been involved in the world of drifting and in 2026 is partnered with 3 of the sport’s biggest names, Ken Gushi, Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis and Rome Charpentier. Ken Gushi is one of the few drivers who still competes today that was also a part of the inaugural 2004 season.

The weekend started on Thursday with qualifying where Odi Bakchis stormed to the top spot. Rome took 9th position while Ken finished in 26th of 32 drivers.

In the first round, Odi took the win while unfortunately Rome and Ken were not as fortunate. Ken was disqualified after making contact with another competitor while Rome had a very close run that led to another tie-breaker round as the competition was so tight.

Odi continued to dominate throughout the evening and made it to the final 4. He was edged out at the end, narrowly missing the final, but securing valuable championship points and a 3rd place podium position.

Odi leaves Atlanta in 3rd position in the 2026 season points standings as the teams head to Round 3 in Orlando, Florida in late May.
